Terms of Service

Spotlight is a free promotional showcase. Every 4 hours, one TikTok creator is chosen at random from that round's entries, and their public TikTok profile is featured on our homepage until the next draw. That placement is the entire prize: it is temporary, promotional, and has no monetary value. It cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged for anything.

Entry is free. No purchase, payment, or other consideration is required or accepted — now or ever. To enter, you submit a TikTok handle; if it belongs to a valid public TikTok profile, it receives a ticket in the currently open round.

• Each submission of a handle adds one ticket to that handle for the current round. Multiple people entering the same handle stack tickets on it.
• The winner is drawn at random, weighted by tickets. More tickets mean better odds, never a guarantee. Odds depend on the total number of tickets in the round.
• One vote per person per round, enforced per network address (IP). Connections that share an address — households, offices, some mobile networks — share that limit.
• You may withdraw the vote you cast during the open round using the control shown after entering; this removes the ticket it granted and frees you to vote again that round.
• Tickets apply only to the round in which they were entered. When a round closes, its entries are spent — winning or not.
• A round with no entries produces no winner; the previous winner may remain featured until a later draw replaces them.

We may, at our sole discretion and without notice: refuse or remove any entry; disqualify any handle; skip, re-run, or void any draw; decline to feature a drawn winner; end a feature early; or adjust round timing. We do this to keep the spotlight safe and lawful — for example when a profile turns private, is deleted, impersonates someone, or contains content we judge inappropriate to feature.

Spotlight is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TikTok or ByteDance. Featured profiles are displayed using TikTok's public embed (oEmbed) system and are rendered by TikTok's own player; we do not host, copy, or store any creator's photos or videos. All embedded content remains the property of TikTok and its creators, and your use of the embedded player is additionally governed by TikTok's own terms and policies. "TikTok" is a trademark of its owner.

You agree not to:

• use bots, scripts, or other automation to enter, withdraw, or otherwise manipulate the draw;
• enter handles that are unlawful, impersonating, deceptive, or abusive, or enter a handle to harass its owner;
• probe, overload, or interfere with the service or its APIs;
• misrepresent Spotlight, a feature on it, or your relationship with us.

We may rate-limit, void tickets, or block access to enforce this section.

We collect very little, because there are no accounts:

• Entered handles — already public TikTok identifiers — with timestamps and ticket counts, kept per round.
• Winner records — the drawn handle, its public profile link, and TikTok's embed markup.
• Standard server logs (such as IP addresses) generated by operating the service.
• A salted hash of your IP address per round, used only to enforce the one-vote-per-round rule. The raw address is not stored with your vote, and the hash is meaningless outside that round's ledger.
• A local flag in your browser (localStorage) remembering that you entered the current round and with which handle, so the page can show your status. It stays on your device; you can clear it in your browser at any time.

We don't run accounts, don't use tracking cookies of our own, and don't sell data. TikTok's embedded player may process data under TikTok's own privacy policy when it loads.

You must be at least 13 years old to enter, and old enough to use TikTok in your country. If local law sets a higher age for services like this, that higher age applies.

Spotlight is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't promise the service, any round, any draw, or any feature will run uninterrupted, on schedule, or error-free, and we may change, pause, or discontinue the service at any time. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from being featured, not being featured, or the content of embedded profiles. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

We may update these terms as the service evolves. The current version, with its effective date, is always on this page; continuing to use Spotlight after a change means you accept the updated terms.
